Strike hidden germs
Clean isn't actually clean
Your retainer, aligner or mouthguard may look clean, but these items can carry up to 500 more times bacteria than a toilet seat. Even if it looks clean after brushing, most of the harmful build-up is completely invisible. And it's going straight back into your mouth.

When your oral devices are truly clean, everything feels better. Breath stays fresh. Your smile is brighter. Your mouth feels healthier. And you stop wondering what you’re putting back in your mouth each day.

Still have questions?
How long does each cleaning take?
The BrightMouth™ CleanWave Sanitiser offers two cycle options:
- A 5-minute quick clean: ideal for daily maintenance of retainers, aligners, mouth guards, or toothbrush heads.
- A 10-minute deep clean: for more thorough bacteria, plaque or odour-causing buildup removal.
Do not exceed the recommended cycle times, as overuse may generate excess heat and risk damaging your dental device.
How do I use the CleanWave Sanitiser?
Open the lid, drop in your retainer, toothbrush head or mouth guard into the CleanWave Sanitiser tank, close the lid and tap the button.
One tap = 5 minute daily clean
Two taps = 10 minute deeper clean
When the CleanWave beeps, open the lid and remove your device.
Do I still need to use cleaning tablets or brush it manually?
No, scrubbing or brushing is not required. The CleanWave uses ultrasonic waves + UV-C sterilisation to deep-clean and sanitise your device, hands-free.
If you prefer, you can drop in a mild, aligner-safe cleaning tablet for an extra boost, but for most users, water alone is enough.
What type of devices can I clean with CleanWave?
The BrightMouth™ CleanWave Sanitiser is designed for removable oral devices such as retainers, clear aligners, mouth guards, night guards, dentures, and even toothbrush heads.
Important: Do not use it on permanently fixed dental appliances, bonded retainers, or items with glued metal/plastic joints. These may be sensitive to ultrasonic vibrations and could warp or degrade over time.
Is it safe for all types of retainers and aligners?
Generally yes, for removable, solid (non-layered) retainers made from standard dental-grade plastic. Ultrasonic cleaning is gentle compared to abrasive brushing or harsh chemicals, and when used correctly, it’s considered safe and effective.
If your retainer includes metal wires, glued/soldered parts, or special coatings, we recommend you check with your orthodontist before use
Does CleanWave use chemicals or strong detergents?
No. CleanWave uses only water, ultrasonic vibrations, and UV-C light.
There are no harsh chemicals or irritating solutions, which makes it gentle, safe, and ideal even for sensitive gums or mouths.
How big is the CleanWave Sanitiser — will it fit on my benchtop?
The unit holds 180 ml capacity and occupies about 12 cm²of bench top space when in use, making it compact enough for most bathrooms, vanities, or even shared spaces.
How often should I use the CleanWave Sanitiser?
Daily use is fine, but most users find that cleaning 2–3 times per week is sufficient for retainers or aligners.
For dentures or mouth guards used daily, you may wish to clean more often. Avoid running back-to-back cycles in a single day to preserve the lifespan of your devices.
What if I’m not satisfied — is there a guarantee?
Absolutely. We offer a 30-day risk-free trial. If you’re not happy with the BrightMouth™ CleanWave Sanitiser for any reason (though we’re confident you will be) you can return it within 30 days for a full refund, no questions asked.
Are there any safety tips I should know when using the CleanWave Sanitiser?
Yes. The CleanWave is very safe to use, but here are a few simple tips to keep your dental devices in great condition:
- Use cool or room-temperature water only.
Hot water can warp retainers or aligners, affecting their fit. - Check your device regularly.
If your retainer or mouthguard has cracks, glued/soldered joints, metal inserts, or signs of warping, discontinue ultrasonic cleaning and chat with your dentist or orthodontist.
Following these guidelines ensures your device gets the best clean possible while staying safe and in great condition.
